The Liszt Museum will be open during the national holiday in August.

Exactly on the 140th anniversary of Franz Liszt’s death, on 31 July, the Liszt Museum announced its new, autumn matinée season. The museum welcomes audiences every Saturday at 11 a.m. for a unique concert in the Chamber Music Hall of the Old Academy of Music from September.

A new temporary exhibition has opened – as it does every year – in November. It explores the work of Franz Liszt’s friend and chamber partner, the violinist and composer Jenő Hubay.

The Franz Liszt Memorial Museum organised a three-day series of events to honour the composer, born in October, between 16 and 18 October.

Ferenc Liszt was born on 22 October 1811, and as per tradition Liszt Museum is hosting a special three-day festival to celebrate the anniversary. You can find the detailed programme below.

The world-renowned Liszt researcher Kenneth Hamilton has published an article in International Piano, in which he explores Julius Reubke's Sonata in B-flat minor—a piece he performed in June at the Liszt Museum.
