The most important class, however, for me and for hundreds of other Hungarian musicians, was the chamber-music class. From about the age of fourteen, and until graduation from the Academy, all instrumentalists except the heavy-brass players and percussionists had to participate in this course. Presiding over it for many years was the composer Leó Weiner, who thus exercised an enormous influence on three generations of Hungarian musicians.

The season opening concert in the Liszt Academy by Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra is sure to be a dramatic musical experience that will remain in the memory for many years. Tradition – since it is exactly one year to the day that they launched the season, similarly with István Várdai as artistic director. Resolve – since their star guest, who was unable to attend in December, is now being welcomed onto this iconic stage. Challenge – because by deepening and taking the artistic collaboration a step further, Vadim Gluzman receives a new role, thus we can get to know the world-famous performer not only as a soloist but also as concertmaster. This is what makes the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, now approaching their sixth decade, so popular: a classic programme with world stars, new impressions, new motivations.
