Interactive workshop on the Department of Folk Music Presented by Liszt Academy

On the 19th of March, special guests of the Department of Folk Music invite you to a very exciting, interactive workshop on Balkan music, festivals and international opportunities for young musicians. 

The 8-member band called Oktofonija from the city of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, will visit our institution, many of them musicians, teachers, researchers. In their own words: “Friendship, love for music and openness towards other cultures led them on a certain path - towards the preservation and transmission of traditional music. Together they traveled the Balkans and many other parts of the world to collect, learn, then pass it on, place it in a modern context and in the end bring this culture and music to life.”

This interactive music workshop is open to all students, whether you are a classical singer, violist, brass, jazz or folk musician. We look forward to seeing you on March 19th, from 10 am in the Semmelweis Street building.
