Ádám Balogh, Fülöp Ránki (piano)
Ádám Balogh and Fülöp Ránki are two exceptional young Hungarian artists who will perform in the Y Generation series at the Liszt Academy, performing unique two-piano arrangements.
Ádám Balogh began playing the piano as a child and won numerous national competitions by the age of thirteen. At twelve, he was admitted to the School for Exceptional Young Talents. Since then, he has received recognition in several international competitions. The other performer of the evening is Fülöp Ránki, born to renowned piano virtuoso parents. He earned his master’s degree at the Liszt Academy and performed in front of audiences from an early age. Today, he is an esteemed instructor and doctoral student at the university.
The concert will feature Debussy’s Three Nocturnes, originally composed for orchestra and choir, followed by Ravel’s Rapsodie espagnole – likely inspired by his mother’s Basque heritage. Both works will be presented in the two-piano arrangement written by Ravel. After the intermission, Rachmaninov’s final orchestral work, Symphonic Dances, will be performed in the composer’s own two-piano version.
