The story of the creation of the Mass in B minor is surrounded by questions and legends. Why exactly did the evangelical Bach write a Catholic mass, and how would the nearly two-hour-long compositions have fitted into the liturgy? In his mass Bach reformulated certain elements of his near three decades of work, thereby summarizing the essence of his art for posterity. However, all these petty questions fade away once the music starts and from the first moment the faith that emanates from it elevates the soul of the audience above everyday reality. This Bach masterpiece is performed in a highly proficient interpretation. The orchestra made up of students of the university and New Liszt Ferenc Chamber Choir established from the university’s former students  are conducted by teacher of the Doctoral School of the Liszt Academy, Liszt and Kossuth Prize laureate Salamon Kamp. Vocal soloists include artists whose names are well-known on the Hungarian and international concert circuit plus a student of the Liszt Academy.
