An iconic venue for classical music concerts is the Academy of Music, and its typical time is 7 p.m. Our new series aims to reach a new audience by changing the usual time from the classical trio of genre-venue-time. This new time slot is designed for those looking for familiar musical experiences in the weekend afternoon. It offers an opportunity for both younger and older generations to get acquainted with the classics of music literature, while also providing a great platform for young talents from the Academy of Music to present themselves. On this afternoon, the Réz Körút septet, formed in 2022, will take the stage. The ensemble, which boldly experiments with arrangements of pieces from different historical periods, aims to showcase the unique expressive power of brass instruments, from the Baroque to contemporary music. A distinctive feature of their concept is the combination of the performance with visual elements: Szabó Benedek’s piece Te)Réz Körút will be accompanied by photographs taken in tram stops by András Dénes, while Madman’s Treasure will be complemented by works by Egon Schiele, turning the performance into a complex artistic experience.
