A meeting of contemporaries and generations at the Anima Musicae’s concert – this time, the dynamic chamber orchestra pairs the works of Haydn and Mozart as well as Bartók and Britten. The classical giant of music history, Haydn, influenced the young genius Mozart with his art just as Bartók, the absolute shaper of the music of the 20th century, influenced the work of the young Britten. The evening will feature a string orchestra transcription of two Bartók works, of which Péter Nógrádi’s will be performed as a premiere. The orchestra is led by two star soloists, violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky and violist Maxim Rysanov. The Ukrainian–British violist and the Russian-born British violinist are old friends and chamber music partners. Now they are playing together for the first time on the stage of the Liszt Academy in Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat major.
