Liszt Museum at the Conference in Saarbrücken
The German Research Foundation organized a conference on its project dedicated to the digital edition of Franz Liszt’s writings. The event took place from 24 to 25 October 2025 in Saarbrücken, bringing together researchers from Great Britain, France, Germany, and Hungary. The director of the Liszt Museum, Máté Cselényi, and researcher Ágnes Watzatka also gave presentations.
The event took place at the Saarland State Theatre and the Saar Academy of Music. It began in the theatre foyer with a presentation of the new digital edition of the writings of Franz Liszt. Professor Dr. David Trippett from Cambridge University then gave a presentation entitled Liszt's Italian Opera: Sardanapalo: The Story of a Rescue. Máté Cselényi spoke about Liszt’s writings from the perspective of Hungarian music (Ungarische Musik und die Schriften von Franz Liszt), while Ágnes Watzatka analyzed Liszt’s fragment on future sacred music (Neue Gedanken zu Liszts Fragment ›Über zukünftige Kirchenmusik‹).
