NEW ITEMS PURCHASED BY THE LISZT MUSEUM FOUNDATION

The Liszt Museum Foundation has purchased valuable documents and objects to expand the Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum's collection. Among the items are an original photograph of Franz Liszt (Pest, 1865, Borsos and Doctor), a Beethoven bust (Herend), a copper engraving by Hans Schindler of the Wien Oper, a Verdi bust (after A. Giammelli, biscuit porcelain) and a Wagner bust (after A. Giammelli, biscuit porcelain).

In addition, the Foundation has also acquired three documents: letters from Jenő Hubay, Károly Aggházy and Franz Liszt. The latter is unique in that it was written by Franz Liszt in 1878 on the Music Academy Budapest own embossed paper, addressed to Aggházy. The purchase of these valuable letters was made possible by a generous donation from Tibor Szász.
