28 May 2024

On 19 April 2024, the Liszt-House in Raiding shared its plans for the building-renovation with the leaders of the international cooperation.

Franz Liszt's birthplace will be renovated by the Liszt-Haus in Riding, while the institution will expand the exhibition space to provide additional exhibition space on two levels in connection with the Liszt-Birthplace, as well as space for programme-related lectures or workshops and storage rooms. The extension will be built on the open space behind the existing concert hall. The three curators in charge of the renovation, art historian Theresia Gabriel and pianists Johannes and Eduard Kutrowatz, have invited the music historian leaders of other Liszt-houses to discuss the preparations. Dr. Sven Friedrich, Director of the Liszt Museum in Bayreuth, Dr. Evelyn Liepsch, former Director of the Goethe and Schiller Archives in Weimar and Dr. Zsuzsanna Domokos, Director of the Liszt Museum and Research Centre in Budapest represented the institutions involved in the international cooperation. The curators presented the current state of the renovation, shared the concept and the visual design of the building, which was created by Viennese stage and set designer Christof Cremer.
