Royal Majesties around Franz Liszt
The main attractions on display are the portraits of the royal friends of the composer and the most important venues where these encounters took place. Among others excerpts from letters by Karl Alexander Grand Duke of Weimar, Augusta the Prussian Princess (later to become Queen of Prussia) or the letters of gratitude by Frederick William IV. and Napoleon III.
Also on display some original medals and ribbons, the exact equivalents of the ones Liszt received from different places. These medals are the property of the Hungarian National Museum, the Museum of Military History and some interesting objects from the Museum of Fine Arts.
A significant part of the exhibition shows some of the most interesting scores by Liszt (printed or manuscripts) from the Museum’s collection, most of the cover pages have dedications to kings, supporters and friends of the composer.
