The Cellissimo Academy Masterclasses will be held this autumn for the very first time under the direction of Péter Szabó, principal cellist of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. At the concert three professors and their students will play on the stage of the Old Academy of Music. Virginie Robilliard graduated from the Juilliard School in 1993, as a student of Dorothy Delay. She was Young Laureate of the Long–Thibaud International Competition and the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. Virginie Robilliard is professor at the Haute École de Musique in Lausanne Switzerland since 2015. István Lajkó graduated with honors in 2007 from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, then, in 2014, he received there a doctorate in summa cum laude. He has won a number of prestigious prizes home and abroad and in 2010 he was honored with the prestigious Junior Prima Prize. He is currently teaching at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, Liszt Ferenc Hochschule für Musik in Weimar and a teacher at the in Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). At the age of 27 Ildikó Szabó is already a cello-institution in her home country Hungary. She released her first CD at the age of 14. She won a series of prizes at the most important international cello competitions, including the International Pablo Casals Competition. She received Junior Prima Prize in 2013 and Annie Fischer Performing Arts Scholarship in 2020. In September 2020, she released a new CD entitled “Heritage”.
