Franz Liszt's Estate II

The precious Liszt collection of the Academy of Music had to wait for its worthy placement until 1986. The building called "Old Academy of Music" became the property of the Franz Liszt Music College in 1981, its reconstruction started in the summer of 1984, and it finally opened its gates for the public in 1986, the Liszt jubilee year. Since then, it is the recently established Franz Liszt Memorial Museum and Research Centre that has been responsible for the conservation, enlargement, exhibition and scholarly treatment of the Liszt collection, operating within the institutional framework of the Academy.
