The country where Liszt spent his youth in and spoke the language with the most pleasure in his whole career had an enormous impact on the composer’s life.

On the occasion of the Liszt-bicentenary we would like to present for a wider range of public an authentic and appealing picture of the great Hungarian composer's life and work with a 16 pcs. poster-exhibition

The syllabus of the exhibition covers Liszt’s stay in Pest-Budapest from his first appearance in 1823 till his farewell concert in 1886. The main themes of the exhibition are the events of Liszt’s stay in Budapest.

The Hungarian National Royal Academy of Music began its activities in 1875. The president and professor of the piano masterclass was Franz Liszt, while the director and head of the piano faculty was Ferenc Erkel.

Among his immediate predecessors Franz Liszt had the most regard for Beethoven, Schubert and Weber.
