The Liszt Museum will be open during the national holiday in August.

Exactly on the 140th anniversary of Franz Liszt’s death, on 31 July, the Liszt Museum announced its new, autumn matinée season. The museum welcomes audiences every Saturday at 11 a.m. for a unique concert in the Chamber Music Hall of the Old Academy of Music from September.

A new temporary exhibition has opened – as it does every year – in November. It explores the work of Franz Liszt’s friend and chamber partner, the violinist and composer Jenő Hubay.

Our partner institution, the Liszt Festival Albano, is a major cultural event in Italy. In November, the following concerts will take place as part of the festival.

A life-size bust and a photograph of Franz Liszt, made shortly before his death on his last trip to England in April 1886, have been added to the institution's collection, and were presented at the opening of this year's Liszt Birthday Festival. For many years now, the Liszt Birthday Festival has become a tradition organised by the Liszt Academy and the Liszt Museum to commemorate the anniversary of the birth of Franz Liszt.
