Praised for his outstanding technical capabilities and sensitive musicality, Jeroen Berwaerts’ repertoire encompasses every epoch, from baroque music to contemporary music to jazz. He is regularly invited to perform at music festivals and in widely renowned orchestras. Since 1999 he has been the solo trumpet player of the NDR NDR Radio Symphony Hamburg and he is the trumpet teacher of the Hochschule für Musik in Hannover.
Besides his flourishing solo carrier, Jeroen Berwaerts also devotes time to chamber music. Following many years as a member of the Canadian Brass, Jeroen Berwaerts now plays with the Stockholm Chamber Brass ensemble. He is the laureate of several competitions including the prizes of the prestigious Maurice André Trumpet Competition.
Besides his instrument, he also completed jazz vocal studies at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent.
